I think? Eric plays it in 4/4 timing, but 3./4 timing works well also. Before you come into the first verse try creating a little run on the C chord I tend to do something like pick the B string then the G , D pulloff to a hammer-on , G ,D pulloff. Just anything that will lead you into the first verse.
